Playing Songs on Nintendo DS

Playing Songs on the DS is possible with the use of flash card and the correct software. You need to use MoonShell to play your MP3 songs. Most users will have the Moonshell if you are using DSTT, R4 or others flash card.
If you do not have it, you can download Moonshell by clicking here>>>

Just unzip and paste the moonshl folder and _moonshl.nds to the root of your memory card.

Go to your flash card menu and click on moonshell.nds. Upon entering the software scroll to your folder where you kept the songs and Press button A to enter. Just Press A to play the songs and B to stop playing the songs.

DSTT Ver 1.15 Kernel Download

This is the latest Kernel for your DSTT and is updated on 17 July 2008.

Download DSTT V1.15 English Kernel (17-July-2008)

After english.zip is downloaded, please unzip it into a temporary directory and copy TTMenu folder and TTMenu.dat to the root of your microSD/TF card through the USB card reader.
You may place all your games in a Games folder on the root of your memory card. Games must have a .nds extension.

This is the latest Kernel for your DSTT and is updated on 11 June 2008.

After english.zip is downloaded, please unzip it into a temporary directory and copy TTMenu folder and TTMenu.dat to the root of your microSD/TF card through the USB card reader.

EZ Flash Card

R4 and DSTT has been the popular flash card for the Nintendo DS series. EZ Flash Card is now also gaining its popularity. The new package also provides a RAM Expansion Card which are not available on the R4 and DSTT package. The RAM Expansion Card will enable you to run the NDS Browser powered by Opera on your flash card.

Playing Videos on Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS can also play videos on its console similar to the PSP. You need to have a flash cart like R4, DSTT or M3 card. It made use of the video format DPG to play on the nintendo ds. To playback and to encode to DPG you need to Download Moonshell plus the Moon Shell Windows Tools.
Most of users should have the moonshell as it comes with your flash card. You just need the Moon Shell Windows Tools now to convert your videos.

Converting video to DPG
Now you need to extract the MoonShell Win Tools archive. This will contain an executable called dpgenc.exe this is the application that encodes videos to the DPG format.

Run this application and then set the language to the relevant one using the drop down box. Now choose your video(mpg/mpeg/avi/wmv) and click Start and choose the output location and the encoding should start. Video encoding time varies depending on the video and your PCs processer. On my Window XP system encoding is roughly half the time of the full video. Once converted copy the video to your DS flash card restart your DS and load Moonshell. Now navigate to the DPG video file on the top screen of your DS and press A.

R4 V1.15 Kernel Update

This is the latest R4 v1.15 Kernel update available for your R4 card. It will resolved the 1905 problem.

How to update R4?
After downloading and decompressing the new updated files, there will be one moonshl folder and one _system_ folder and two files _DS_MENU.DAT, _DS_MSHL.NDS.Copy these files to the root directory of TF card to replace the former files

NDS Change Games or Apps

Most DS users have encounter this problem which is they must switch the on and off button in order to play another game or appliction. We have explore a method which allow you to go back to the main menu without the need to OFF your NDS. It is very simple and all you need to do is to press the LEFT AND RIGHT BUTTON TOGETHER WITH THE A, B, X, Y. This will bring you back to the main menu and it works for DS  R4 Flash Card. Currently, this method does not work for DSTT card.

Nintendo DS Lite Crimson Red

This is one of the best design of the Nintendo DS Lite Series and thus it is more expensive than the others. It is retailing at S$250 for the Crimson Red while the other DS Lite colour series only cost S$225.
