Omnia 2 can connect to your computer via ActiveSync or Mass Storage. ActiveSync is set as the default connections on your Omnia. You can access USB Connection by going to:
Start - Settings - General Settings - USB Connection
ActiveSync
This function is use to synchronise your contacts, calendar, email, notes, task and files with your computer. Most users used it to backup their contacts and appointments to OutLook. Once this is selected, it will launch the Active Syn 4.5 on your computer when you connect your Omnia using the USB cable.
Mass Storage
This allow you to use your Omnia as a USB Removable Drive. In Mass Storage, you can choose to use the My Storage (8GB) or the Storage Card (Removable SD Card). You can copy files from your computer to the storage that you selected.
Connecting to ActiveSync Problems
Users may face issues connecting to ActiveSync sometimes. The most common issue is ActiveSyn will not start on the computer. Switch the connections in USB Connection from ActiveSync to Mass Storage. Connect Omnia to computer and later remove it from computer. Switch back to ActiveSync and then connect to your computer. It should rectify your problem or else just restart your computer.
