Omnia WM 6.1 DXID1

Omnia WM 6.1 DXID1 ROM is another great cook ROM with all the default applications plus NETCF 3.5 and FL3.1 and Samsung Online Widgets. This is a English WM 6.1 Custom ROM.

It is recommended that you use Windows XP to update the ROM. Not advisable to use on Windows Vista or Windows 7 for the upgrade.

Custom ROM DXIA2

I am using Taril Custom ROM at MoDaCo Forum for my Omnia. It comes with all the Pre-Install Samsung Applications plus some extras which are not even available in the official Firmware. It is better than what is developed by the Samsung Firmware Staffs. The most significant is the increase of memory space which most Omnia Users is lacking. You get more than 50MB Storage Memory free compare with less than 30MB for DZHK3 (original Samsung) Firmware.

Before you are going to move to Custom ROM, ensure you have DZHK3 installed on your Omnia. Follow the step by step instructions avail on Taril Forum Thread

The below is the step I have taken to upgrade from DZHK3 to Custom ROM, DXIA2
SKIP STEP 1 AND 2 IF MICROSOFT ACTIVE SYN AND SAMSUNG MODEM DRIVER ARE INSTALLED
Must have DZHK3 Firmware on Omnia before installing Custom ROM, DXIA2

1. Install Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 (once)
2. Install Samsung Modem Driver
3. Backup your data using Microsoft Active Syn
4. Turn off your phone
5. Connect it to the PC via USB cable
6. Start Firmware update application
7. Turn on your phone
8. Click on Start button in the firmware update application and wait until "Jobs Done." will appear on the blue loading bar

CLEAN DXHK3 ROM

DXHK3 is a Custom ROM and you will get more memory in your Program and Storage Memory.

Known Issues:
* Disabling Samsung Dialer frees up to 10MB memory, but also disables Video Call feature. If you want Samsung Dialer and Video Call enabled, change the value from 0 to 1 in registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin] "Enabled"=dword:0

** DivX VOD Registration removed, but icon is still present.
